Question How come the first, and not the sequels?

I hate when they release the first movie for blu ray, and they don't release the sequels to it That really annoys me. For example, they released childs play, but not the second one or the other ones. They have children of the corn out, but not the sequels. I would love to own all of them for blu ray, not just the first movie. What is the deal with that? They better release all the Friday the 13th movies too.

We have a date for Bad Boys, but not info on the sequel. That and the Friday the 13th sequels are bothering me. Dammit! I may sell all of my Blu's because of this!!!

Most of the time the studios release a single title of a series to see how well it does. If it sells well enough, the sequels will follow. Or they wait for a remake or other sequel to release the BDs.

Yeah, it is really bothering me too. I don't want a blu ray collection that doesn't have sequels I still don't understand why they are doing this?

Oh, I didn't know that. Well I hope the first one sells well then. It's still annoying to wait though. I just sold all of my dvds (over 70) just to start my blu ray collection. I didn't know I had to wait this long

Or even more annoying are sequels released without the originals........ eg we have Shrek 3 without the first 2 (although i think they're due around the time of the next films release)

I don't think this reason should apply to Bad Boys. Sony would sell more copies if they release both Bad Boys and Bad Boys 2 on the same day.
It is really annoying.

I am right there with you. I have my "need to have now Blu-ray's" as well

I think that they are doing the right thing. Releasing too many at one time won't help sales per say. Most people would be like me and pick and choose and leave the rest for a later time. Going slowly is a good idea and it might mean more work being done on them for a better release

Yeah, your right. Releasing them slowly would be better for both the buyers and the makers. When they released dvds, there were so many dvds I never picked up because they had so many out there that I just never cared about buying them. I ended up selling all my dvds anyway. I rather have my collection on Blu ray. I just hope they release the movies I want, and not ignore them.

Just did the same thing. Sold 82 of my DVD's so feed my Blu addiction, but I was able to buy 15 Blu's with that money.

Agreed. It always surprised me that they didn't release Ghostbusters I & II in a set. Maybe they are waiting to release Ghostbusters II until they confirm the possibility of the theatrical release of Ghostbusters III, and will possibly release it around that time as a cross-promotional type deal.

thats cool. They are getting rid of all the dvds in the walmart near where I live. more and more blu rays are coming in. They have this big shelf with all blu rays now, it's pretty cool.

As for the Speed sequel, they can leave that as the last bluray ever produced
