Default Pana DMP-BD10A FW. 2.2 very strange behavior

Pana DMP-BD10A UK version FW. 2.2
very strange behavior

When connected hdmi to dvi-M on Infocus 7205
Only auto available in hdmi menu all others grayed out! Outputs only std def from hdmi.

Turn hdmi off and select 1080i in component menu

Hey presto! 1080i comes out of the hdmi (currently showing as turned off in the menu)! And is displayed correctly from the 7205 projector

But it will not upscale any std DVDs even non copy protected ones!

Any ideas?

Paul

Because it can't establish an HDCP connection I'll wager, since you're converting it.

Hi Paul,
I have a DMP-BD10, Australian version, firmware 2.2. Connected to a Samsung LCD via HDMI to DVI cable. Behaves exactly the same as yours. Thinking it was faulty, I took it into my local Panasonic service centre and hooked it up to a Panasonic Plasma (HDMI to HDMI) and the previously missing resolution options were available. It has something to do with the HDMI "handshake" as described by WickyWoo.
Cheers,
Ron
