Default HDMV authoring

I have just started HDMV authoring. I need help on sliding the menus in and out. I undertstand the ineffect function in HDMV. However, that is limited only to two composition objects. How about if i have one page with about five buttons on it. I need to slide them from left to right. Any help or guidance will be appreciated,

If anyone is aware of any books for HDMV authoring or detailed HDMV tutorials then please let me know. Sonic guide is not very helpful specially for sliding menus in and out.

Thanks for the link. However, that talks about BD-J authoring. I am looking for guidelines for HDMV authoring in particular to slide menus in and out. Please let me know if you are aware of any such site or books.

Then, I'm not sure what you are asking about "slide menus in and out". If you mean popup menus then for Bluray you need to use BD-J.

This is definitely not true. You can create popup menus with HDMV authoring. It gets a little strange if you want to actually slide the menu up or down, but it's definitely possible. Unfortunately I myself am not an author, and haven't implemented this myself, but I can tell you that it's a combination of page in and out effects (I believe it's a combination of a scroll and a crop/wipe). I have seen this done.

I am very interested in this topic too.
Where can one learn about HDMV in more detail?
I have the HD cookbook, Blu-Ray Demystified and "HD DVD Handbook" (HD DVD And BD) and I've got a google-compatible computer
Yet I have a hard time finding any useful information on HDMV.
These books tell me about the folder and file structure and how to make fancy BD-J objects. Yet I can't find much about how to create the HDMV files.

I am wanting to create and application which is able to create rather simple HDMV BDs (without BD-J objects). All files on the BD are compressed and can not be read with a text editor.

Appreciate if anyone know of any sources for learning the "under the skin" on HDMV!

Ingvar
