Unhappy In DESPERATE need of help!

I just bought a Samsung BD-p1590 Blu Ray player, i got it so i can stream netflix to my tv.

I have no clue how to get it connected to my wireless internet, i'm pretty much illiterate when it comes to computers, tvs etc. So im not sure if my wireless internet is even hooked up right.

What should i buy??? a super long ethernet cable??? a wireless LAN adapter??

I spent over $1500 on the tv and player, so i need an inexpensive solution to my problem!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I don't think the player has wifi or wireless capability.

A long ethernet cable seems to be in order.

Maybe you can re-route some of your network so that you don't need a long cable?

Hey,

Read up on the player .... supposedly it's "wifi ready" but not really. In order to use it wirelessly you need more hardware that actually doesn't exist yet and doesn't come with it.

Seems you have to run ethernet cable to it. Now... really long cable would depend on how your network is setup which I know nothing about.

My computer is on a different floor than my blu ray player. im guessing i will have to run the cable through the floor like my tv cables.

Do what I did. Buy this: The Slinglink Ethernet Bridge. It works through the existing wiring of your home. Just plug one part into your router, and the other into the wall socket behind your TV. I stream Netflix that way.

Or if you need more inputs (like for a Roku box, or a satellite receiver) get this one. They work great.

There are also some wireless bridge kits that can provide the equivalent of a long network cable (here is an example), or if you already have a wireless network you may be able to find a wireless bridge that can be used with your existing wireless access point (they are often called game adapters because they were first widely marketed to game consoles).

if you already have cables going from point a to b, then i would buy a long cable since a wired connection is usually faster. i bought a 50ft cable from parts express for 5 bucks which is nothing compared to in store prices.
