United Kingdom Is TRICK 'R TREAT coming out in the UK?

Is Trick 'r Treat coming out in the UK, and if so when is it?

here's the trailer to those who haven't seen it yet.

It looks like a fun, scary, classic horror movie, but is only coming to DVD and Blu-Ray.

Thanks in Advance!!!

I've not heard of it until now, but I would deffinately blind-buy it as it looks like a decent horror movie.

Warner only announced a DVD release in the UK, so it seems a Blu-Ray release isn't coming out (at least for now): http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content/id...n-october.html

Thankfully I already pre-ordered the US release. It's one of the films I'm planning to watch on Halloween.

I would order the import too if I knew it was 100% region free?

I have it pre-ordered because I figured in the meantime someone will review the BD, and we will find out if it's region-free or not.
Warner usually doesn't lock it's releases, but we will only know for sure when someone tests it.

Good stuff, hope they keep this one unlocked, I'm surprised I've not heard of it until now, it looks exellent and I can't wait for it to hit blu-ray!

It's a film that's been on Warner's shelf for the past 2 years, even though it was extremely well received in the film festivals it was shown (in fact, I'm yet to see a negative review of the film). First Warner delayed the film's theatrical release for several months, supposedly to release it in theaters on Halloween, but then the film just "vanished", and it's now being "dumped" on DVD and Blu-Ray 2 years later.

I would like to hear an explanation as to why it was shelved for 2 years with such positive reviews.

Unfortunately, films being treated as crap is nothing new, and usually it's for petty reasons. See Midnight Meat Train: the film was due to have a wide theatrical release, and it was a major bet from Liongate's then president. But then a new president was appointed, and the first thing he did was "dump" every film his predecessor approved, especially if he didn't get a producing credit in them. So Midnight Meat Train was only shown in a few "dollar theaters", and then released on DVD and Blu-Ray. For the record, I found it quite enjoyable, much better than pretty much all horror films that currently get theatrical releases.

It's true: there's quite a few interesting new horror films around, but most of the times they are getting DTV releases while Hollywood bets on remaking pretty much every property they can, be it older genre films (at times they're not that old) or asian films. Nowadays a DTV release doesn't mean it's an inferior product, Warner in particular has been releasing quite a few DTV films (such as one I recently watched, Alien Raiders, which was quite enjoyable) that I found to be superior to their theatrical releases (such as the Friday the 13th remake). And Trick 'r Treat is certainly not alone in this, Warner is soon releasing another film DTV that's been getting quite a few good reviews, The Hills Run Red.

Speaking again of Trick 'r Treat, apparently it's fate could be worse. According to the director, these good reviews and internet buzz is what saved the film from worse fate: interview with the director.

Good explanation, I liked Midnight Meat Train, underrated in the horror genre.
