Strange sound coming from TV/PS3 - Blu-ray Forum

Hello. I'm new to the forum as I recently purchased a PS3 a few months ago. I have the 80GB model hooked up via a PS3 HDMI cable to my Pioneer Kuro PDP-5080HD. I'm noticing that sometimes when I play a Blu-ray disc or a game I will hear a weird noise that sounds like a "snap" when it switches between resolutions. I use the speakers that came with the television, but this has never happened with my Xbox 360, so I'm assuming it's the PS3. Does anyone have any information about this? I appreciate your help.

i suggest do a few tests, to find out what is causing it.

to make sure it is the ps3, try a different audio out to the tv, if problems still presists,

try the audio out to a set of speakers,

this should point towards the culprit,

if it is your ps3, i hope it is still under warranty. good luck.
