Default Question about "Magnolia" - A Six Hour Cut????

I remember when Magnolia came out, I was living in Bellingham Washington (bout two hours east of Seattle) and from what I recall I seem to remember an article on the movie about how long the movie was. I believe it clocks in at about 3:30 or 3:40.

And I remember (if I'm recalling this right) that PT Anderson originally turned in a six hour cut of the movie, and wanted to release it like that, and the studio basically told him what he could do with that six hour cut. lol

Essentially saying, "No Effing Way, go back and cut that movie down".

I haven't found anything else about this, and the DVD only had a few deleted scenes.

Anyone else hear anything like that? Am I dreaming (in blu?) this?

I wouldn't mind seeing a six hour version of this as I absolutely love it.

I never heard about a 6 hour version and couldn't find anything about it after a brief search either. If there was, I would watch it but also would like the normal 3 hour version as well.

I have seen this a few times and one I am waiting for on BD

I'm a big fan of Magnolia, but I've never heard of a 6 hour cut. Maybe he said that as a joke, grossly exaggerating the actual length of an already long film. Day one purchase for me when it comes to blu!
