Default Pee Wee Herman Is Back to Hollywood

hey,

I am not a fan to Paul Reuben (Except for his part in Blow) but apparently he is returning to Hollywood as Pee Wee Herman.

Two titles mentioned one for Adults and the other for Children.

Quote:
Paul Reubens has been going around for the past couple years saying that he was developing two new Pee-Wee Herman feature films, one for adults, one for children. Neither of which seem to have advanced past the “is there anyone crazy enough to fund either of these films?” phase, but that doesn’t mean that we haven’t heard the last of Pee-Wee. Reubens has announced that he will be reprising the character live onstage in Hollywood, will have a limited engagement beginning November 8th, 2009, at The Music Box @ Fonda. Details after the jump.

Before Pee Wee's Playhouse, I saw Pee Wee on stage. Very adult in nature. Very funny!

Although I took it to mean "Given 'Big Top Pee-Wee', is there anyone crazy enough to fund either of these movies without Tim Burton directing??"

(And that's not as a Tim-boi, that's as "...Randall KLEISER?? ")

I think Paul Reubens was very funny in those Cheech & Chong films!

And let's not forget, Pee-wee's Big Adventure is one of the few Burton films to not go Blu quite yet.

TELL 'EM LARGE MARGE SENT YA.

I used to be like that, but then I watched Big Top Pee-Wee again and realized it's quite funny. Do people hate on Big Top Pee-Wee because they don't like Pee-Wee, or do they hate on it because they love everything Tim Burton has ever done. I've met a lot of people that seem to only like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure because they like Tim Burton, and that doesn't make sense to me.

No, we didn't like BTPW because it was flat, without flavor, and didn't quite seem to "get" Reubens' larger stylistic joke beyond what Reubens himself had written into the script.
Danny Elfman's faux-Nino Rota/Fellini music was also sorely missed.

If there was a reason PWBA became Reubens' cultural icon, it was a team effort, and dropping the shortstop and catcher didn't win the game.
