Need recommendation for a new BR Player

Need a recommendation for a new player, my Samsung BDP-1400 is out of it's misery. I need one with good audio or I'd by a PS3...right??? Thx!

If you're an aurally inclined sort of person, the sound from the fan on a PS3 might bother you.

I've got a Panasonic myself and haven't had any problems, nor have I heard anyone else with a Panasonic having had any problems.

But you pretty much can't go wrong. Just aim for a known brand, read some product reviews, and you should be ok.

It may be more than what you've budgeted, but the Oppo BDP83 seems to be all the rage. Plays BD, DVD, CD, SACD, DVD-A and a few more I think.

PS3 is always a good choice. It is a robust and reliable machine if you could live with its limitations, mainly audio, remote and noise. Alternatively Oppo is a good all-rounder based on what I have heard.

If we know your budget, it will make it easier to recommend a player for you.
