Default The Train - Hostel ripoff.

I got a chance to see this and it was originally made as a remake of "Terror Train". The producers decided to make a more faithful remake afterwards and the movie was simply titled "The Train". Other then an opening scene homage, there is nothing similiar to the original in this one. The opening scene is a body being skinned. Yuck. The fact that Thora Birch plays a female wrestler should of been a warning.

This is a straight Hostel ripoff. It even takes place in Russia. Long story short, its about a organ parts scheme on a train. A group of Americans need to get to Odessa and miss their train. A nice stranger offers them a ride on a private train. Bad idea. Very bloody, very graphic. I dont want to spoil it for people who havent seen it, but its as if the producers said "Lets do Hostel and make it more grotesque". The worst scene is when a guy is hanging from his arms and they need him to stop struggling. So the "butcher" takes a knife and slits down his back. He then takes a fork looking thing and puts it between his spine and hammers into it. Gross. A happier ending then most torture movies, but still not for the faint. A very intense movie. Well made, but not for everybody. I loved the original Terror Train and thank god this isnt gonna be the remake.

I'll take "The Train" the late John Frankenheimer film on blu! That whole train yard being destoyed was incredible, considering there was no CGI back then!

I don't care if anyone does a ripoff of Hostel...as long as the writing and acting is much better.

Hostel I - godawful acting and writing just makes it too stupid to watch

Hostel II - slightly better acting and writing, but a less interesting plot

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Hostel doesn't take place in Russia. The setting for Hostel I is Amsterdam. Hostel II is set in Slovakia.

Sadly, no. She shares a bubble bath with her boyfriend but you see nothing.

Only part of Hostel 1 took place in Amsterdam. They took the train into the former USSR to get to the Hostel.

You should care if it's a ripoff of Hostel, because if it's a ripoff of Hostel, that means the acting and writing suck in comparison.

The former USSR and Russia are not the same. Entering a former Soviet Republic is not the same as entering Russia. This film did not take place in Russia.

To me its like the US. If it takes place in Wisconsin, or Texas, its still the United States. I cant keep track of all the god forsaken countries in that area. Just take every consonant in the alphabet and say it at once and you have the name of a country.

Wherever it is, I dont wanna go there.

They took the train to Slovakia. I'll always remember because I was afraid to visit there when I was backpacking in Europe only a few months after the film came out.
