If you do decide to check out the 3D version you would have to wear the glasses thru the whole movie. |

I saw it both in 3D and regular. I thought the 3D was a nice "enhancement" for the movie but nothing over the top. The movie isn't gimmicky in the use of 3D as nothing jumps out at you or anything. The 3D just adds a good sense of depth to the movie.
That said, I don't think it's necessarily worth the extra unless you're really intrigued by the 3D experience. You won't be able to watch it in 3D at home so this would really be your only chance. The glasses can get a little annoying the whole time though too. It's really your call but I would just enjoy the movie in 2D if it was me. |

My wife and I saw in it 3D on opening weekend, and I have to agree with the previous posts. The 3D adds "depth" to the movie, but it's not worth the extra cost, in my opinion.
One thing to consider... like the previous posts stated, the glasses must be worn the entire time, and they are kinda large. My wife wears regular glasses, which means the plastic 3D glasses have to be worn over her regular glasses, and that bothers her a bit. Something to keep in mind if anyone you are taking wears glasses. On the other hand, it seemed as though most of the younger kids in the theater when we went enjoyed the extra "something" that the 3D added to the movie experience. To me, it's just a gimmick that I can definitely live without. For the kids, it creates many "oohs" and "aahs" along with waving arms trying to reach out and touch things that appear to be coming toward them. RTP |

Well I would go for the Digital 3D because:
Better colours (doesn't fade like 35mm prints and you probably won't have a weak bulb like most 35mm projectors) It's in 3D Steadier image Quiter projector No unintended grain added in because it is on a 35mm print lossless audio and much higher chance of the projector being in focus because you can only put expensive lenses on them and can't cheap out. |
