That figures. I *just* picked up a used copy of Dr. Goldfoot. Not expensive, but still, the timing.

As much as I love Vincent Price and Mario Bava, can't bite on these. They were pretty bad imo.

Good news for their fans, but watching these once was enough for me. And that's coming from someone who loves bad movies from this era. I found both of these unwatchable, not something I have said about very many movies in all the decades I've been watching them.

Never seen them, but I'll give them a whirl when they go on sale somewhere.

That bad? I like both Price and Bava and those two are the sole reason I'm interested in either of these.

I've never seen a worse Bava movie and it's very low on the Price canon as well. See if you can stream them or watch the DVDs before committing yourself to the Blu. In my opinion, these are not good blind buys in the slightest.

(60s) spy genre completists should find them both quite enjoyable.

I'm one and I didn't. I have every 60's spy feature film from around the world if it was released, and many which were never officially released, plus a lot of that era's spy television, also from around the world, as much as I can get. It's the one genre that I have little to no objectivity over and I want it all. But the only way I'll ever watch these two movies again is if I'm being tortured to do so by an enemy agent.

But now that you mention it maybe I should have them.... Damn.

The separate thing makes this a tough sell. I'll definitely end up getting the Bava one if they put a Tim Lucas commentary on it though!

While I wouldn't call them favorites, these films are harmless much in the same way that the beach movies (another source of their inspiration) are. And if one considers the sheer volume of low-quality spy films released then, I doubt either would rank anywhere near the bottom.

Fun movies, but honestly for a Dwayne Hickman movie, I'd rather Cat Ballou get released

I've never seen these films, but always wanted to see the Bava one based on the crazy trailer. Based only on what I've heard about it in the past, it's not for people looking for a "good" movie in the conventional sense. But the trailer had some great visuals, so as a Bava fan it's a must see for me. I suspect you need an appreciation for WTF and so called "so good it's bad" films to enjoy this. Curious about the first one too.

Any comments on how this compares to Danger: Diabolik? That was a lovely spoofy adventure flick from Bava.

DIABOLIK - classic. GOLDFEET - painful.

BIKINI is the more tolerable of the 2, but only sightly. The Bava helmed BOMBS is a train wreck. Price disliked the entire experience and had a bad time with Bava, but there is some visual redemption in the form of Laura Antonelli. Outside of an effect shot or two you'd never know poor Mario had anything to do with this.

Add in these 2 morons and the whole thing becomes excruciating.

I'm sure I recall reading an interview where Price said it was one of his least favourite films he worked on, along with House of a Thousand Dolls (which I have seen, and while it's not a good film it wasn't too bad a watch). I kind of get the impression he simply didn't like the continental Europe way of working back then.

I find BIKINI fun. BOMBS is pretty torturous. Good for live tweeting I bet, though.

I'll need to get in touch with you about your spy collection. There are a couple of movies I'd like to add to the #Bond_age_ live tweet schedule but can't locate with English subs. I'll send you a DM.
