i would buy this, but the Uk sterling exchange rate is just too rubbish at the moment, which is a bummer because I'm missing out on loads of Hk films

DDD is cheaper but ive never used them so i dont know if they can be trusted

I would definitely get both but I have never ordered from DDD, however, many people here and on other sites have used them and generally have good things to say.

You should also check out PTU, Exiled and Mad Detective if you end up enjoying the Election series as they all share the same director and numerous HK actors.

If you decide you are interested in Mad Detective get the UK/Eureka Masters of Cinema version over the HK version. Its region free and director approved and part of the MOC series which is basically like the UK criterion.

any idea how long it takes to ship to america?

Blu-asia ships pretty fast to me, they shipped in a wednesday and i had it by friday

and i read the synopsis, is this Triad as in gang triad?

Shipping to Europe takes about a week, sometimes a bit longer. I don't think it will take any longer to the US.

And yes, Election is about organized crime in HK.

not sure about that, i'm on the east cost (North America) and have not gotten consistent shipping times with dddhouse--last time it took 2 weeks.

I ordered the Election set and SPL from Blu-Asia. For whatever reason SPL has shipped but both Election blu rays are still being processed.

well, the release date for election was only 2 days ago...i think they're probably waiting for their first stock shipment since they're based in north america.

i pre-ordered mine last week and i got an email saying it should ship to me first week of June.

Duh! I forgot how new it was. Its amazing what having kids and a house does for your sense of time...it felt like a year ago when I read about the release of Election when it was just a week ago.

But yeah, My Election set is slated for a June 1-3 ship date from Blu Asia.
