Default The Commando Appreciation Thread

Hey guys,

Yesterday I've purchased my copy of COMMANDO. I think the PQ is very nice, above the Director's Cut/Special Edition DVD for sure. No dirt or much grain. This was a low budget movie, so this is the best we can get...

Anyway, I expect a Director's Cut BD...

For whatever reason I still do not own this movie. I must make a move soon.

COMMANDO is simply the greatest movie ever... I've owned copies on VHS to Laserdisc and now I can say the blu-ray is without question, the BEST presentation of this classic!!!

This is a pretty good start.

I posted Bennett's death as the greatest bad guy movie death ever in a thread awhile back.

Here is also the best review of Commando ever, that sums up my feelings exactly.

In short, I can wax poetic about the joy that is Commando forever. Good thread.

I agree Commando is a great film, but...

The Running Man > Commando

When will The Running Man get the Blu-Ray treatment it deserves?

I really enjoy this movie..... I think the transfer gets a bad rap too.....

It's readily available for cheap, so if you like the movie, it's a great buy.

PQ is stunning... why the bad rep? There's no dirt. The layer of grain is inherent to the way the movie was filmed (only 10 millions of dollars like budget).
Truly, exceptional PQ.

I'm just waiting for a BD re-release featuring a further remastering to get rid of the remaining flaws and the infamous Director's Cut, plus some extras.

COMMANDO is simply the most iconic AND funniest eighties movie in my book. John Matrix is legend.

USA Predator > Commando (close call)

While I love this movie and have it in Blu-ray, I would rate Predator just a tad bit above Commando. Give the Gold to Predator and the Silver to Commando.

If you can get this great action flick for under $16 it is a darn good deal.

Was a great deal when Borders B&M stores had that 40% coupon a couple of weeks ago making the Predator/Commando 2-pack 17.00 after discounts!

Or just before that when Arnold is holding Sully by the leg. You can briefly see the wire holding Sully upside down.

Great movie! This was (together with the first Terminator) my introduction to both Arnold and action movies when I was a kid. I've never been the same since...

I prefer both Predator and the first Terminator before Commando, but Commando may very well be the most enjoyable and trashy of Arnold's flicks. It's by far the one I have watched the most times.

We need the director's cut on Blu-ray!!!!!
