I have an LG BD390 that does both, Netflix, stream from PC, and then some through either wired or wireless connections. Netflix works just fine with standard PQ and I have not tried streaming video from the PC as of yet..

I have heard it is not easy setting up streaming from the PC. I have a 300 and a couple of Roku's that stream from netflix and amazon which was very easy to setup. Maybe there is anyother thread on streaming from your pc?

I don't know how easy it is to set it up. The BD390 comes with Nero MediaHome 4 Essential CD and here's what it does.
I am not much into streaming video from my PC or from anywhere else, there's probably no video on any of my computers.

It's Very Easy To Stream Video From Your Pc. Look At The Back Of Your Pc .you Need Two Video Out Puts .one For Your Computer Monitor And One For Your Tv Or Projector .if You Do Not Have Two Outputs You Can Go To Your Computer Store Bring With You Computer Name And Modle Number And They Will Look It Up .you Can Install The New Video Card Yourself Or Have Them Install It. The New Card Will Come With Cd Software.all You Want To Do Is Clone Whats On Your Pc Monitor To Your Tv .very Easy To Do
You Dont Need Nero To Stream Movies From You Pc. Netflix Will Scan Your Format Or Resolution And Set Thing Up For You With A Couple Of Questions. Thats It !you Can Stream Movies . A Video Card Cost Around $40 And Up .

Default send media wirelessly to Samsung 1590

I want to stream media wirelessly from the laptop which is connected to a 2 TB external HD, and send it to my Samsung 1590
The support at Samsung is researching this and supposedly will call me when they figure it out. IM not going to hold my breath.

I have a Sony BDP S550 which doesn't seem to have the Netflix capability. I'm a Netflix fiend and would love to download directly through my Blu-Ray player.

Is that Samsung model listed above the only Blu-Ray capable of that feature?

I do have my Blu-Ray on my network, so streaming from the PC would also be nice, but not necessary.

Finally, any chance through firmware updates that the S550 would be upgrade to include Netflix capability?

The PQ is dependent on your ISP speed.
I usually only get the BASIC PQ connection to Netflix and the PQ is comparable to OTA 480i but at times seem to have a lot of macroblocking and lack of detail during sences that have the same background or color. This is on a 60" HDTV via HDMI output(no DVI->HDMI adapter) from the PC. Maybe on a smaller set, the defects aren't as noticable.

I have a 6MB DSL connection and I usually get the full four bars on HD films. AFAIK (and I could be wrong).... there are only two devices that allow HD streaming. The Roku and the XBox 360. The Roku is a great buy at $99. The 360 is $249 and also requires a gold Live subscription for Netflix streaming ($54.99/yr) but it does have Netflix sharing parties where you can watch with your friend's, and also has file sharing from your PC, and a marketplace with downloadable movies and tv shows.

If you can find a BD player that has the file sharing from PC... and pair that with a Roku for the HD Netflix.... that might be your best option.

3-4mb is enough. The trick is in your router (b or g sometimes lag depending on the distance in between the devices. I suggest an N-router or N-Plus.
Good BD players are the LG-BD390 and Samsung bd-3600. Both are supporting Netflix, YourTube, PC streaming. The LG supports CinemaNow by Roxio and the Samsung supports Blockbusters.

PC streaming is easy with the LG and dificult with the Samsung. Check reviews for better understamding. I bought the samsung and than I exchanged for the LG.

I mean, is it out of the question that a future firmware upgrade would bring Netflix capability to the Sony BDP S550? Or, if I really want this option, will I have to find a different player?
