Quantum of Solace: Collector's Edition??? - Blu-ray Forum

Just like with the collector's edition of Casino Royale it seems inevitable, but how long do you think it will take for it to get released? Does anybody know off hand how long it was between the original and collector's editions of Casino Royale so we can gauge an approximate of how long we'll be waiting?

I only ask because this is the only reason I've been holding off on getting this.

You probably won't be seeing a collector's edition of QoS until Bond 23 is released, which is rumored to hit around 2011.

You've got a while to wait, you might as well pick up the current release as it's got excellent audio and picture quality.

The only reason Casino Royale was re-issued was to tie in with the theatrical release of QOS.

Since there is no new Bond picture on the horizon, the current QOS release will probably be the definitive version for a while. No reason not to pick it up, it's awesome!

I agree. The current version of QoS is excellent. Can't really upgrade on that. Maybe they will add more extras, or a little booklet.

Extras are just icing.

Thanks for the info everybody. I know the disc is reference, it is the extras I'm concerned with

But since the consensus seems to be that it'll at least be a year until the next version, I think I'll go ahead and get it as soon as my BB puts it in the 2 for 25 deal, which should be SOON

I personally am waiting for the inevitable double dip with additional extras. I probably won't watch the movie again until I'm gearing up for the next installment anyways.

Thanks, but that still makes it $17 w/shipping. I'll just wait for it to achieve previously viewed status @ BB; it should be any day now.

What can they really add to make you want and go out and buy another copy, a few extra features.The current one already has and excellent PQ and AQ, no need in my opinion to wait for a re-release.

It was never suggested that the PQ and AQ were anything less than stellar, as a matter of fact, I even referred to it as reference quality.

And yes, it has already been stated that the extras are a factor in my decision.

And thank you for your opinion on whether or not the extras would warrant you waiting for a re-release, but we are talking about me and my viewing pleasure

Unless Bond 23 is delayed for some reason, you can bet on the QOS Collector's Edition coming out when B23 hits theaters.

What's strange is that even before the current BD of QoS was released the director Marc Forster had said that he had recorded an audio commentary for the eventual Collector's Edition of "Quantum of Solace"

I am not a big fan of the movie anyway, so I find it no sacrifice to wait for the Collector's Edition.

I agree - I've seen the movie at the theatre, so it's no biggie to wait another 12 mths or so from now till I see it again - by then the Collector's BD shld be out.

Funny I thought the same thing when this was released. It'll be so far away it might coincide with a new special edition of Casino Royale again

I am also waiting on the collector's edition. What I really wanna hear is the commentary track with Marc Foster. I thought the movie was pretty terrible in comparison Casino Royale and maybe the commentary by Marc Foster explaining his intentions etc. will change my decision. And from what I know of the extras they are pretty much material that was released online to promote the movie leading up to it's release.

Seems like a long time to wait for a Digital copy, some extras and a BD-Live sneak peak at Bond 23.
