Default Zune Sucks --- mine crapped out....

So my husband and I both bought Zunes because of a few things - large storage (120GB), large screen, FM radio, and liked the idea of the Zune Pass...

We bought them in March....his is still fine, but mine crapped out and I continually have to erase the content on it and re-load it. It sucks. Talking to Microsoft support is a joke too! Their only solution is for me to ship it to them and they will send me a refurbished one within 2 weeks....Wow.

Grrrrrr.....frustrated.

I've had every hard drive based Zune so far (30GB, 80GB and now the 120GB), and I've never had any issues with them. I guess you were just unlucky. That sucks.

I bought my first MP3 player, (Zune), here after borrowing my buddy's Ipod and I am LOVING the hell out of it. Especially the Zune pass. I am going nuts with that thing. What a great service that is. I was nervous about getting an Mp3 player, especially a Zune since Ipod is so popular, but this might be my most satisfying purchase ever.

Sorry to hear about your problem, I just couldn't contain my love there for a minute.

You're reading too much into that whole "refurbished" deal. Most of the time refurb units are better then new ones because they're thoroughly tested before being made available. For all you know the one you'll get will be relatively new as well, so don't think of it so negatively.

It is a negative thing - I have to wait on Microsoft to fix or send me something after only 6 months of ownership....not a good thing!

Your own home can be Microsoft free. Mine is.

My Dreamcast says "compatible with Microsoft CE" but that's it. (And it's in a box, packed away, mostly retired anyhow.) Everything else is gone.

My "PC" is a macbook. I also have a Dell but I have Ubuntu on it.

It can be done,... I hear microsoft doesn't need anymore cash anyhow.

I wish my work was Well at least I chose Borland C++ for my language at work but they are trying to get me to switch to MS C# and I can't stand the language.

I come from an Amiga computer background.. use to program BBS Software on the Amiga called Tempest back in the day.. I wish those computers were still around and developed today.. would be great having another choice and they were kind of a mix of unix and apple.

Yeah - I have to have both. I use a desktop at home for all my music and personal things, but a laptop for all things business.

Come to think of it... I may have got the idea for a M$ free home from Bill Gates himself. I read an interview with his wife who was upset because he wouldn't let her have an iphone or the kids have ipods.

Uhhh, so how do you expect companies to deal with products that break under warranty? If you have a PS3 and it breaks then guess what, Sony will send you another refurbished PS3.

Which would mean that Sony sucks too, right? I love it when people post such rubbish (such as "Zune Sucks") just because they happen to have one that failed. But feel free to rant on.

So does Dell, and Apple and HP... and on.

It sucks yours went out on you, but you should be happy with the refurb. I've been rockin' a refurb 30gb for a couple years now without any issues.
