gladiator recio A vs B - Blu-ray Forum

Gladiator region A will be distrubuted by paramount wich is the original studio's film,Gladiator region B will be distributed for Universal, wich of this studios would me more reliable regarding quality. I am not sure wich one to buy.

well if that's the case, I dont know.

I guess he'd have to look at the specs of each movie.

Well, I think the important question here is whether the Universal release of Gladiator will be using the same transfer as the Paramount release.

From what i have read both transfers will be the same. The only difference will be the implementation of the PiP navigation system. Universal's release will use U-Control whilst Paramounts release uses another icon so as to not infringe on trademark, etc. Other than that they will be identical i beleive. Obviously Paramounts is Region A locked so that may influence your decision.

The (German) Steelbook was confirmed region free here.

get the steel and replace it with the region A version.

It won't be the same encode. Paramount and Universal do their own.

It depends on the master universal have. It most likely will be that universal will have a different master. Only time will tell. I do hope they don't have the same master used by paramount.
