Default Apocalypto Blind Buy?

I havn't done a "blind buy" for any blu-rays as of yet, but they have Apocalypto on Play.com for only £5.99 and I was wondering if it's really worth the blind buy or not?

Haven't watched it on blu myself, but have read that this is one of the best PQ blu's out there. Also read one guy on this site (can't remember who) say it has THE BEST PQ as of today on blu.

Be carefull. I love it, but I can easily see that many might find it too violent and dark.

I didn't like this movie at all. I'd rent it first.

I thought the movie was great, however it's not something I watch over and over again. The second time I watched it was nothing like the first.

It's a fantastic film - one of the great "chase films" of all time, in my opinion. The production values (cinematogrpahy, costume design, art direction) are extraordinary. I'd jump on it at that price - just be warned -- the movie is absolutely unflinching in its horror and violence.

I agree with Ernest on this one, I love this flick. Hope you're not a subtitle-hater, although much of the movie is action.

Had it when it first came out and sold it eventually. It has amazing PQ, but sadly is one those types of movies you probably won't watch more than twice a year, if that. It's thrilling - almost on the "edge of your seat" type suspense, but honestly I didn't think the blood and gore was as bad as people say it is.

I agree with everyone that says it has great PQ and AQ but I didn't really like the movie overall. Really violent and I just didn't really like it very much. I certainly wouldn't watch it again.

+1 I really enjoyed this movie and have seen it twice but the first time was definitely the more enjoyable experience for me.

+1!....Say what you will about Mel, but there is no denying that he treads ground where no has gone before with his often controversial material (see - Passion of the Christ)....kudos of the first order to him. I found the Mayan world he created fascinating, gripping, and unlike anything that's ever been seen on the silver screen. For me, Apocalypto eclipses most of Hollywood's output today in terms of engagement & originality. In any case, because of the wide variability of personal tastes, I would recommend a rental first.

As Squid said it's not for everyone. I love it! You can pick it up with a couple of other titles by joining Disney Movie Club.

PQ-4.5 (16x9 if you are lover)
AQ-4.0

IMO

I never said I disliked Cloverfield. I said I never want to see it again. I haven't seen Apocalypto since the theaters, either.
