I have a long list of movies I'd like to see on Blu-Ray. The problem is, many of them never even got a decent *DVD* release - so the chances of them getting released on Blu are slim-to-none. A few examples:
The Paper - DVD only released in Full Frame ![]() Fierce Creatures - DVD only released in Full Frame... but it was released in widescreen on VHS ![]() Erik the Viking - only released as the inferior, chopped-up, horribly-edited, disastrous "Director's Son's Cut" ![]() (...I was about to include Under the Rainbow, but I just now found that it's available now as one of those "Warner Archive" titles. ![]() ...and I won't even get started on the hundreds of titles released on DVD, but in non-anamorphic/enhanced for 16x9 widescreen. I would hope all blu's do the widescreen properly. |

The MTV show "Celebrity Deathmatch" would be sweet too. There was a best-of disc at one point, but never a whole series or season set. At this point, I'd hope for Blu-Rays. I doubt it'll ever be released though (does anybody even remember this stuff?).

These are movies I'd love to add to my BR collection but since they are scarcely better than their DVD release it is hard for me to justify a double dip.
Fantastic Four Fugitive Heartbreak Ridge Italian Job, The Lethal Weapon Lethal Weapon II Ronin Sahara Terminator Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines Transporter Walking Tall |

Ken Russell's The Devils has still not been officially released on DVD, and the VHS version was cut. Some bootleg of a TV screening on DVD is the only way you can watch the movie uncut... so yeah, a BD release for that would be cool!

I always wanted At Play in the Fields of the Lord on DVD, but it never happened. What a great film that was. My fingers are crossed for BD release.
I'm also waiting impatiently for a BD version of The Abyss, which never got an anamorphic DVD release. Thankfully the two Grumpy Old Men movies are available. They never got an anamorphic versions (P&S only) either. Now I'm hoping for Howard Stern's Private Parts (no anamorphic DVD... letterboxed 4:3 only). Last edited by OG Pooh; 01-02-2011 at 03:13 AM. |

Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future never received a DVD release and that would be nice to have on BD. Also, The Shadow never received a proper DVD release at is presented in 1.33:1 while the film was shot in 1.85:1.

LOVE this movie. It's a great acting showcase. I always wondered if it was adapted from a stage play. Both Rickman and Madeline Stowe were stellar in this.
