Just ordered a PS3 on Amazon at the reduced price - Blu-ray Forum

My roomate moved out and took his PS3. I have been without Blu-ray playback since June 15th. As soon as I saw the PS3 for 499 on Amazon I bought it. I can now get back to purchasing new discs. Just one more nail in the coffin of HD DUD.

Not exactly a reduced price.

There was a pricedrop on the PS3 in the US.

I hope this drop helps PS3's overall sales numbers... the more people that have one, the more people will try Blu-ray movies (even if it is only a percentage)

For these living in Canada, Best Buy has a promotion... a $25 off coupon when you buy a PS3..

So, now is an even better opportunity because of the price drop. It's now $549.99 meaning it'll be $525 when you get it with the coupon. You can pick up the coupon in any Best Buy store in Canada.

Plus 5 free movies, you can download the form at http://www.bluraysavings.com/index_ca.html

After the PS/3 came out the CAD$ retreated a bit causing most places (including the Sony Store) to push the price of the PS/3 up $50 to $699.

But, I see Best Buy have taken the opportunity of the drop and roaring dollar to reduce the PS/3 $150!

That should kick start sales again.

Yeah, at the moment... a Canadian dollar is equal to 95 American cents. It's just a matter of time before we pass the $1 mark. Hard to believe we hit the lowest point a few years at 62 cents.

i have just convinced my brother to buy a ps3! sweet, another one for the blu squad. when i told he also could get 5 free blu rays he was sold. so hopefully the 5 free BD deal still counts towards the reduced ps3 or else ima owe my brother 5 BD dvds

And Memento is up to #7 in DVDs. Probably indicates at least a couple hundred sold, but hopefully we can get a better idea with in stock numbers from eproductwars.com here:
