Were you messing with any of the setting might want to reset the setting on each..I know lots of people with a 1080i tv and Iron man that are amazed by the pic.

Is this your first time buying a PS3? I can't remember if I had to change the video setting on my PS3 when I first got it.

sounds like maybe you need to go to the ps3 video settings at set it to 1080i if that is native for your tv.

You're like me i think and spent years and years watching things in Vivid I had to make the adjustment when I calibrated my tv the way it is now which is a lower setting.

Vivid boosts your brightness, contrast and color settings etc. Basically to over exaggerate the picture so people will think it looks better, in reality its way off from the intended look of the picture.

I'm pretty sure that out of the box you have to change the resolution on the PS3.

And Vivid should be really called "Big Box Store Setting"

your TV has 1,024 x 768 pixel display, which puts in more in line with 720p.

It will accept a 1080p and 1080i signal, but will only show a 1,024 x 768 image, which is closer to 720p.
