Default Blu-ray Player on University Campus (Samsung 1600)

Hi,

I have Samsung BD-P1600...

I go to University where they have Cisco Clean Access router/network system. Unfortunately, my Blu-Ray Player cannot get through at all. I already took my player to the ITS Department, they told me that everything is fine except the part where the Bluray player won't get through the Gateway Ping during Network Test.

Basically, I can't get online at all. And the University forbids routers in each dorm room due to bad past experiences so they say.

I called Samsung Level 2 tech, and they told me that I have to have firewalls disabled and open up three ports (80, 443, and 8080) to get it working. But the University will not do this.

Anyone else have had problems like this? Solutions?

Or is there any recommended Blu-Ray Player that I could use without having to rely on firewalls or portals of some sort?

Any help is MUCH appreciated. BTW I connect my Bluray player fine at home, but never tried Netflix movie streaming and such. When I update my Firmware at home, it was fine... But here on University campus, I can't except ITS technician can in his office. They updated my firmware yesterday, and no better at all.

Help! Make my $250 spending worth it!
