Default Check Out This New TT Offering

Larry Denham of TTWeights has designed and built this Space Shuttle grade offering. I recently bought one of his record clamps so I guess I'm now on his email list. Not sure about the price, but me thinks its pricey!

Hi Fred!

I saw that TT the other day when I was just browsing around. It does look rather expensive, but I personally don't care for the look of it. It has a kind of retro look to it, yet it's also very modern given its metal.

Big threads about it on AK and CAM. Apparently he thinks he's going to get 30 grand a pop for them.

Some people like it, I think for 30 grand I'll buy a top of the line Clear Audio table, Blue Circle phono pre and Koetsu cartridge and have money left over.

Hi John, Did you add TTWeights to your list of TT manufacturers? I agree, it looks don't appeal that much to me either. Can't hold a candle to the sheer bueauty of my killer Technics.

Anything in that realm of pricing is out of my league and even if I hit the powerball tonight, it would remain so. If TT's at those stratospheric price points actually sound good enough to justify the money, my poor old tired worn out ears wouldn't be able to tell.

For half of that I'd get an Oracle Delphi Mk V with an Oracle SME tonearm and Oracle Thalia cartridge.

John,

Nice choice.

But, as for me, as I mentioned I would stick with mine for about $2,000 more (than the $30,000) including the Teres Certus 450 Turntable, Teres Illius Tonearm, Marigo Mystery Feet, Soundsmith Strain Gauge Cartridge, and Strain Gauge 410 Phono Preamp :

Hi Rich!

Your Teres/Soundsmith TT combo is to die for. Maybe one day I'll have a chance to hear it, which would be really sweet!

Ever since I first heard and looked at an Oracle, it was at a good friend's place. He still has his Delphi Mk II and it performs flawlessly. If ever I had the good fortune of coming into some cash that is the TT I would love to get.

One shouldn't judge by looks alone, but that is one ugly turntable!

This is part of the audiophile business that grinds my gears. Now this is no reflection of how these TTs sound, I'm sure they are fabulous, but why is there always this need to invoke or implement something super duper into the mix, and why is it assumed to be a good thing? Space Shuttle grade? Great. Why? What does it improve? Why do I need Space Shuttle grade to listen to music? Do aerospace components make the music sweeter? Whoa - intergalactic jam sessions!

When I saw it was named, I knew it was going to be a tad pricey.
