I have no faith in their animation, but I'll reserve judgement.

Interesting that they're attempting to get The Punisher into the collective consciousness. Wonder if that means they have live-action plans?

Think they're test-marketing BOTH, as it's clearly trying to weigh the idea of just how silly a "Black Widow spinoff movie" really would look, coupled with the eventual reacquisition of Punisher's rights.
(And the idea of de-historizing the LG movies, even though "War Zone" came as close as anyone's gotten so far.)

Like the animated Iron Man, and Thor vs. Hulk, they always test these things out in animation first.

Looks to be another Marvel animation failure. They do so well in the live action department but totally suck when it comes to animation.

Kinda the opposite of DC who always hits it out of the ball park with animation but besides Batman and Superman hasn't found a good grasp in the live action adaptions yet.

I really like the anime style, and I'm glad Sony is keeping with it. I like Iron Man: Technovore, so I'm sure I'll like this!
I just wish they could release the previous Marvel Anime that is only out on dvd.
Preordered!

Hm... I have heard this comparison a lot, but still haven't watched any Marvel animated features to test it out for myself. I bought a Fantastic Four Animated Series set for like $10 from Best Buy but have yet to watch it.

Honestly the story for this movie sounds interesting, and I do like The Punisher and Black Widow, so I might give it a shot.

Well, it certainly looks entirely different from the terrible Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United. Even if it sucks, at least they're making new mistakes.

Well, not really. This is from Sony and the same Japanese animation studio that put out that crappy Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. Disney is responsible for the Hulk and Iron Man animated film. So, while you're right that it look different, it wouldn't be a new mistake.

Wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in the new DareDevil show...

This doesn't look great though. I'll check it out, but right now...Meh.

on a slightly different note, Stan "the man" Lee is rolling a new animated superhero flick (which will actually be a trilogy) on the "Hub Network" FIOS/CABLE & maybe SAT and it's on at 8pm Saturday February 1st it's called the Stan Lee's Mighty 7 (yeah i know how that sounds and how many folks are gonna roll on that "7" thing! )

here's a link about it, good, bad or otherwise, it's animation and Stan the man is one of the animated characters in the movie playing, himself! as a fan of marvel, of comics and of animation, i owe it to myself and Stan to check it out. Nuff Said!

EXCELSIOR!

you may now continue with the titled thread.

They were good until Disney bought them. The Marvel Animated Features canon under lionsgate was getting soo good but then they were cut off. Same goes on the tv side - finally great Spider-Man and Xmen shows again, plus good iron man and avengers shows... That were all canceled way too soon to make way for the current garbage lineup.

These Japanese-inspired Marvel animated features are great in the art/animation department, but they always choose terrible storylines to go along with it, for example the Iron Man: Technovore and most of the Marvel anime series. So they always ends up bad and disappointing, overall. With that said, I'm hoping for the best for this movie because the animation style is great.

Here's a pic:
