Default Onkyo

Well my sony HTiB broke down. The receiver stop putting sound into the center speaker... so that means I will get a new system!

Alright I've been doing some research and I found this receiver.

Onkyo-TX-NR609

http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR609-Channel-Certified-Receiver/dp/B004O0TRD8/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=IVG9K2JG11A02&colid= 1AOBP9JPHBE4L

It looks really nice!!!

So here is a big problem! What kind of speakers should I buy for it! I will also need a sub woofer.

Default Klipsch HT speaker sets

On a budget or looking for a full Tower speaker set?

I would do this:
Start off with a Klipsch HD300 or HD500 5.1 package.

http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-HD-300...dp/B001XURGSK/

http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-HD-500...dp/B001XURGT4/

When you have more money, upgrade the front L R speaker to RF series,
the surround LR speakers to RB series. Or check Best Buy's exclusive Klipsch Icon series.
I personally use tower speakers for surround speakers also.

For example:
http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-RF-52-...dp/B0041578BE/
One reviewer says he has good experience with his Onkyo + RF52.

Then the original small LR front speakers can be used for Dolby Z Height speakers, the original small surround speakers can be used for back surround as a 7.1 system upgraded from the start up 5.1 system.

You can continue to keep the center speaker and the subwoofer.
