that's a pretty long trip. I always had this question to but I also think about when it was delivered to the actual store. It was probably on its back on the big truck to best buy for example. I also seen some of those boxes on their back at best buy.

i helped move my brother-in-law and we moved his standing up on it's pedestal w/a piece of cardboard between the screen and the back of the front seats of the van.
i'd say if u're driving, try to fit it in standing up and protect it as much as you can. or go to a store like best buy or wal-mart and ask them if they have any boxes from displays laying around and package it back up for the trip. |

If you have the original box, please use it. That's what I will do. The original box is designed to protect the TV set. That is the best method to transport.

Use the original box and lay it flat. It'll be fine as long as you're cautious in your drive. The only concern is that you could crack the display from the extra stress/weight if you hit a bump.
Now supposedly plasmas need to not lay flat. I have heard that if you lay them flat that they must be stood up 24 hours prior to turning them on. This feels like a myth but it's what I've heard. ![]() |
