I've been waiting forever to pick up this show on DVD. I've never seen it, but I loved Lost Highway, and I've listened to the soundtrack for this show countless times (I can only imagine what the show is actually like...). I also like games like Silent Hill and Alan Wake (both games inspired by Lost Highway and Twin Peaks).
Apparently they will be re-releasing the first season later this year with the pilot episode included (for us Americans, finally), and I'm waiting until then. But since I picked up a PS3 lately and started watching Blu-Ray, I've become addicted to High Def. I know that a lot of T.V. shows will be released on Blu-Ray in the future, and I was wondering if anyone knew if this show was going to be one of them? I've now refrained from buying DVDs simply because of the chance that they might be released on Blu-Ray. |

I wouldn't think that it would be making the jump to Blu-ray in the near future. I had the first season on DVD and it's a very good print. I wouldn't imagine them changing it for the rumored box set. The problem with a lot of shows, movies and the like not getting a hi def treatment at the moment is to do a proper transfer/version on blu-ray, it costs a company time and money and until there's a larger number of potential buyers out there, older TV content will probably trickle in. And yes, it's a big cycle..if there's no content coming to the next formats, then people won't want to go to it but studios wait until they can see profit for it.

I loveed Twin Peaks when I was growing up. Man that is one screwed up show.
Guranteed that Twin Peaks will not be making any appearance on any HD format for quite a time from now. On top of a shitty transfer of Season two onto SD. The show is filmed in 4:3 ratio. You'll sooner be viewing Friends or Sex in the City on BD before Twin Peaks. Sorry ![]() |

Just got the Hong Kong import of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me on region free blu ray. It is one gorgeous looking 1080p picture. It is from mk2 as are the others (since they own it) and does not include the infamous deleted scenes. What is included is a twenty minute promotional documentary (press kit) with interviews and other stuff. After hearing of the disaster that Universal UK did with the UK version, I was willing to go get a region free one from HK. The only problem is the "forced" Japanese subtitles on the image. It prompts you to select 'no subtitles' in the menu but that doesn't help. They stay on no matter what and it is somewhat annoying. But for the cheap price I paid, I still will enjoy this version. It beats the hell out of the horrible DVD released here in the states many years ago. I have never seen this movie look this good on video! And the soundtrack is 5.1 DTS-HD and really sounds good.
