Default Who wants TOOL on Bluray?

When i think of bands/musicians, rock or otherwise that would benefit from a BD release, the first band that always pops in my head is Tool. They merge A/V like no other band ever and their music videos are actually original and .......artistic. They have to be working on one eventually, but has anyone heard any specific news. I dunno, i just see a lot of middle of the road rock and pop coming out on blu and was wondering when the floodgates would open up and allow some "edgier" music to hit the market.

I am a die hard Tool fan and would love some live Tool on blu-ray...or even DVD for that matter! They've never officially released anything live. Maynard has said that they prefer not to release any live concerts because it takes away from the actual "being there" experience.

I'm sure they have lots of footage but who knows when we'll get to see it. Don't hold your breath.

the thought of tool in lossless audio would be the holy grail of concert bds! i'm getting tired of seeing only standard 4/4 arena rock music blu-ray releases. i've always been a big fan of tool's songwriting: technical riffing and intricate polymeters and danny carey's polyrhythms in hi-def audio would be too badass!

I don't know if this is true or not but they came through Texas back in July - the tickets were outrageous - I just thought they were this expensive because of the venue they were at and because they were Tool - supposedly they were filming that concert

Again I'm not sure if this is true or not but it would be great if we got a blu from their concert doing old and new stuff

Heck, just putting all their videos on a BD would be a good start.

Oh hell yeah, I'd love a Tool blu-ray. Even Perfect Circle would be a great start...

I would love to see a Tool concert on blu-ray. I went last summer to see them at Summerfest in Milwaukee and it was amazing! Only thing I had to complain about was all the second hand marijuana smoke.

I didn't know there was a wishlist section of Movies and Releases, but it's definitely more appropriate here, otherwise people will might get their hopes up.

They released Salival which is a live CD back in 2000 or 2001. Also several songs off of Opiate were live. Also, Maynard seems to be a flake so i don't really take him too serious and with them taking 6 years in between albums it might be kinda nice to throw their fans a bone.
Anyone seen all this hubbub he's getting for his line of wines? Apparently he owns a winery and went on a tour of uppity wine boutiques promoting his stuff. He came to Dallas and i read alot of first hand reports that said he wouldn't sign autographs, wouldn't look at anyone, wouldn't talk to anyone. Apparently he was pissed that the only people showing up to these events were Tool fans looking to see him. They weren't serious enough about the wines and such.
Gimme a break. What did he expect? The only reason people give a crap about his wine in the first place is because he's Maynard. He ought to be thankful for that name recognition, otherwise his wines would've failed long ago just like every other micro brew that popped up in the 1990's and 2000's.

First I have heard of this, very interesting! Maynard probably should have went with Tequila or something (like Sammy Hagar did).

Oh god. Sammy and his tequilla. That stuff is pretty expensive right? How many songs has he written about tequilla and Cabo Wabo?

I listen to the Lex and Terry show and the whole thing with Maynard is that
he hates when ppl think of him like a god - he was being "douchy" when he
was in Dallas promoting his wine, because he didn't want to promote Tool

After he left, Lex and Terry were giving him a hard time - it was really funny

The guy is weird though - but you're right - it's because of Tool that he is well known and if it wasn't for that, he wouldn't be selling wine

He comes off as one of those guys that is smarter than you and likes to throw
it in your face to make you look stupid

Tool's music is one of a kind - Hopefully we will get a blu of their live concerts soon
