Looks like you guys won't have to import i thought it was just a UK release.Hmm maybe you still have to import but from Canada unless you prefer us Brits.

in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Hope it gets the proper treatment. Joe Dante said he was going to supervise the transfer, so we'll see how it turns out. Can't wait.

Pretty sure that is an import from Canada. Otherwise there would have been some announcement or listing on this site or Amazon.

This is a Blu-ray DVD made for Blue-laser Format players which produce higher quality picture and sound. It will only play on North American Blu-ray players

Yeah, I'll probably still get it though. It's all about the transfer, special features are nice, but I rarely ever use them.

What exactly makes them "idiots"? They clearly don't want people returning products because they won't play in their DVD player.

So they called it a blu-ray DVD, so what if it's not the exact terminology? Most of the people out there (who don't visit forums everyday) call it blu-ray DVD anyway, whether we like it or not.

Nice, but i'll wait for an official word about it before i get too excited

I do know work was being done on them so it is possible we'll get it soon, Oct 13th seems too soon though, WB would have said something by now

Last year Gremlins and Goonies were supposed to come out in the UK early october. Goonies made it, Gremlins didnt. I got Goonies which basically came with all the special features of the DVD... Encode was probably based off the same master as the DVD. Will wait for reviews... Really want Goonies 1 and 2.

yeah, US should see a release around November/December. October does seem kinda sudden. I may just get the Canadian import if it gets high marks. Dont know if I can wait to see Gremlins being slaughtered in a blender in HD!
