Warner Bros Adventure Time - Distant Lands - March 8th, 2022

Warner will be releasing the limited series Adventure Time: Distance Lands on Blu-ray on March 8th. The series first debuted on HBO Max.

Quote:
Adventure Time: Distant Lands is an American animated limited series based on the animated television series Adventure Time, which was created by Pendleton Ward and originally aired on Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2018. Distant Lands, which comprises four hour-long streaming television specials, was produced by Cartoon Network Studios and Frederator Studios; the first special was released on HBO Max in June 2020.[1] The rest of the specials were released in November 2020, May 2021, and September 2021.

The series at large follows the adventures of Finn (a human boy) and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake, a dog with magical powers to change shape and size at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, where they interact with the series' other main characters, including Princess Bubblegum, Marceline the Vampire Queen, and BMO. Distant Lands focuses on new and returning characters in previously unexplored areas of the Adventure Time universe.

I’m extremely excited for this, day one purchase! It’s a good thing Warner Bros is allowing us to own the complete franchise, I think this is an optimistic sign that the upcoming Fionna and Cake miniseries will also get a home video release. It being on Blu-ray tho is the icing on the cake! My only hope with this set is that it puts the specials in the proper order, I really have no intention of watching Wizard City after Together Again ever again. It’s a small thing and sure I can just change the order around myself while watching, but I’d prefer it to be in the intended release order.

Man I saw the little thumb nail image for this thing and went woot complete series. then clicked on it and saw it was distant lands and went oh never mind then.

I have nothing against this show but i would kind of rather buy a show in order most of the time.

Without going into spoilers (I'm still going through the original series) were there continuity issues with the order?

All the specials are standalone, they function each as an epilogue of sorts for one or two characters. Ending on Wizard City just feels unfitting as the final episode of these four epilogues, Together Again just works best as the last. As long as you have seen all of the original show there are no continuity issues when watching these specials in any order! It’s just more satisfying (and was the original announcement order) to put Together Again last.

Pretty sure they meant the complete series, and that complete series set is not a U.S. release. I hope Cartoon Network decides to put the remainder of the seasons out on blu-ray. If not I’ll just acquire the already released sets and pop those into my DVD box set.

The complete series is region A+B so there's really no reason not to buy it.

I have one little question: will this Blu-ray have 5.1 lossless audio? Because the HBO Max stream does have a 5.1 audio option, so I'm just wondering.

Here's hoping they release the rest of the series on Blu-Ray (and Over The Garden Wall, too).

I kinda feel like a broken record here, but just buy the Australian set if you want the whole series in one package.

This UK release is region free. I think the back only says B but it works on my A player.
