Default No Fox Blu-rays Overseas?

http://hollywoodinhidef.com/blog_detail.php?id=88

Does this mean that the "Sunshine" disc announced for Japan isn't actually being released? I sure hope not! That's the disc I'm looking most forward to this whole year!

Also, if you do a Japanese to English Altavista Babelfish translation on the link the commentor refers to with regard to the "Sunshine" Blu-Ray, you get this:

"20 century fox foam/home entertainment Japancorporations on the 12th, had planned on September 7th, it announced that sale of Blu-ray Disc video edition (FXXA-32305/4,935 circle) of "sunshine 2057" is postponed. Is not decisive new sale day. As for "sunshine 2057" on September 7th, it was the schedule which is simultaneously sold with DVD and BD video. Furthermore, DVD edition (FXBA-32305/3,990 circle) according to schedule is sold. The same company "various circumstance" has explained concerning the reason of postponement".

This is enough to make out that Fox has postponed the reported September 7th Blu-Ray release date and given no new date. Damn it! COME ON, FOX!!!

They are obviously planning for a huge announcement.

Remember how Sony denied the PS3 price drop so adamantly only days before it was announced? But before that they were saying "we are looking into it"? Something big is coming up, my guess, at Home Media Expo next week.

Fox Overseas Rumor Squashed

"There have been reports of Fox releasing on Blu-ray internationally while still on hold in the U.S. A Fox executive told us and some late-night commenters at High-Def Digest that it isn't true. Fox has made no Blu-ray announcements in Europe, Asia or the U.S. since its last Blu-ray title, "Night at the Museum," on April 24. These reports come amidst ongoing questions about what is going on with Fox since they pulled back from their Blu-ray release slate almost three months ago and have been silent ever since. There is still no word from them on that score -- we were all hoping the recent announcement of the finalization of the BD+ extra anti-piracy protection for Blu-ray Discs would trigger the studio to re-open their release schedule. Well, not yet -- I'm told it's not that simple. Haven't seen them this tight-lipped about anything before. Nonetheless, two things are for sure: Fox is still solidly in the Blu-ray game and we will have the announcement and perspective here as soon as Fox resolves their mysterious internal issues and are ready to become a player again."
