Play.com - do they deliver on /after release date??

Hi there,
With GT5 and Uncharted coming up soon, im pre-ordering with play.com,
Don’t normally do this, so am worried they'll only start shipping copies on release date,
Anyone know if theyre normally on time??

I have used them a lot for Blu-ray movies and they usually arrive the Saturday before the official release date (ie Monday) if you pre-order.

I would like to know this to. I live in Ireland and have pre ordered Uncharted 2. Normally shipping takes about 5 working days. Given that Uncharted is due for release on 16th October (a Friday) will they take where I live in to consideration and ship the week before so that I have it on release date??

If not, I would be very tempted to cancel my pre order. However, I got a code for Uncharted 2 beta this way, yet it is still allowing me to cancel the pre order as of today. If I cancel, I can pick it up on day 1, and still play the beta til then.. Is that bad?!

Hey dude i used to work for them They'll ship it on the Wednesday, you may get it Friday but it may also be the Monday you just can't tell.

What i'd do is wait until the Friday if its not arrived go out Saturday and buy it and when the play one comes send it back (and get a full refund) and tell them why.

I've done this a few times because i just couldn't wait.

Thanks! I don’t want to risk not having it for the weekend - I would go mad!! And if I waited and it didn’t come and then send it back... It just seems a lot of hassle.. Think a cancel jobby is required!

I pre ordered fast and furious boxset on blu-ray with them which was released yesterday ive still not had it if you want something guaranteed for release day your better off pre ordering it at local game shop, dont get me wrong there has been plenty of times ive got my pre order just before or on release date but theres also been afew that have been some days after release date, ive noticed my pre orders from play.com in the last month or so have not got to me on time, might be to do with royal mail problems though

I recieved a game a day early from them once but then the next 2 games i preorderd from them i recived them a couple days late and i believe shin-ra recieved prince of persia a few days late from them. i try not to use them unless they have an exclusive offer

Yeah its the nature of the beast unfortunately, ordering online sometimes gets it to you early and sometimes late.

Amazon are pretty much the best for on time delivery, but remember with all these places the earlier you pre-order the higher up the list you are.....
