Blue valentine and drive? Horrible list. I agree with avatar and gravity. I would also throw avengers in there.

Actually, I'd say Drive is slightly overrated. Not that I enjoy using that word, and I do like Drive, but I don't think Drive is one of the greatest films in recent memory or whatever it is people say about it. Then again, I love The Avengers, which you mentioned, so what do I know...

This probably belongs in the Movies sub-forum.

Maybe it's just me but I don't get how Avatar is overrated. It's been the target of everyone and the only time I ever hear it brought up anymore is for people to make jokes and take a dump on it.

The article says they're "Super" Overrated.

I personally find the phrase overrated in itself overrated. I'm more interested in what people call underrated.

Avatar can't be overrated anymore with the amount of people trashing it.

Pretty much.

Also I highly disagree with The Matrix being on the list.

Technically, I don't think Blue is the Warmest Colour or Blue Valentine left enough of a bearing for either to be considered overrated. They just seem like films that people either enjoyed or didn't.

And also technically, almost all of them have been from the last 5 years and only one was from 15 years ago.

Also find it funny that this is the first time The Dark Knight has avoided the Overrated article. Even calling it overrated has become overrated.

The backlash against 'Avatar' is hilarious. I think people just don't like the fact that it made so much money. Before that most people seemed to like it.

They did the exact same thing when 'Titanic' became such a high-grossing movie. People also did it with 'The Dark Knight', but not as much.

Maybe people just don't like James Cameron?

I find Inception a bit more overrated than TDK.

Well I think cake is overrated, but if we're baking an overrated cake then Inception is the overrated layers, TDK is the overrated icing and Casablanca is the overrated cherry on top!

I agree

The words overrated or pretentious speak more about the critic than the movies themselves.

Blue Valentine is, in my opinion, a great movie. It really shows a non-Hollywood/formulated film about a man-woman relationship. It is one of the first times I saw the underside of a relationship so well depicted in a film without being to preachy or over dramatic.

So far for me, Refn has done no wrong. I enjoyed all his movies. And, yes, even God Only Forgives (his best film, in my opinion).

I hardly ever agree with anything the Huffington Post says........and that hasn't changed.

Gravity? The Matrix? The Hurt Locker? Drive? Whatever.

haven't seen most so can't comment but will agree on Drive - that is a poor excuse for a movie.
