Lightbulb LCD-Plasma Shootout: By Dr. Raymond Soneira

The recent 'LCD-Plasma Display Technology Shootout' articles by Dr. Raymond Soneira, of DisplayMate Technologies, are now available at his web site: http://displaymate.com/shootout.html . This contains the same material recently published in 'Widescreen Review' magazine. These articles are a must read for anyone shopping for a new TV, or wanting to understand in greater detail the strengths and weaknesses of current flat panel displays. The graphical representations of display behavior are particularly helpful.

Best regards and beautiful pictures,

You'll have to ask Dr. Soneira. I presume they were contemporary models when he started his planning for the tests. It may be that the work was done for an update to his own previous tests before 'Widescreen Review' published it for their September issue. I have not been on his site for quite a long time and first became aware of the shootout article when I got my 'WSR' issue. The greatest benefit of the articles is the generic concepts and principles explained, not so much model-specific stuff. Dr. Soneira is very meticulous and detailed in his projects.
