Default Sharp AQUOS BD HP22U problem

Hi - I am a newbie to the forum looking for advice regarding my new Sharp blue ray player. I purchased this two days ago, and just got it together and popped a blue ray disc in. At first, everything appears to be just fine, but after watching for a few minutes, I couldn't help but notice something odd. When I got closer to the screen, I can clearly see what I can only describe as "waves" of very slight distortion that appear on the screen in a rythmic fashion (about two of these "waves" will appear each second). This distortion affects the entire viewing area.

I did notice that this distortion is not present at all on standard def disks.

I am just wondering if this is a problem with this particular model, and if it is something that can be fixed with a firmware update - or if I am better off returning this unit while I still have the chance and getting a replacement.

Thanks in advance.

Well, since noone was able to at least offer an opinion, I will provide Sharp USA's solution. They asked me to send the unit in, and four days later, it is back in my hands. All that they did was to install firmware update P29062300. If they had had any kind of firmware update available on their website when I first had this problem, I never would've bothered them.

Edit: And to top it all off, after watching a blue ray disk last night, the problem still exists. Off to Sharp repair again..
