I might buy, but I'd like to read the spec and extra features, on the standard DVD (US edition) there's a great audio/running secondary video commentary track.

Default "FAME" (1980 version) coming 9/28 in the UK

I loved this movie, and I think it'll be stellar in Blu. It's available for pre-order at Amazon UK, but I haven't seen any info about region coding. Does anyone know if it's going to be Region Locked?

It's a great film... just a shame that the new version looks like it's going to end up like Dance Flick... cliche and dance driven rather than character driven with some nice little numbers in the middle

and it's PG rated, none of the spicy harsh R-rated language found in the original film,

I gave the new version's album a spin, and "ick!" I don't like the songs, sans one - it has that too urban sound to it - even the soundtrack for the TV series was better than this.

Does anyone know the tech specs for the disc? Will it have lossless? I am a big fan of this movie and live in the U.S., do UK Warner titles play here in the USA?

It's from the UK so I believe that's region B ... I may be wrong, but the question is does it have region block..I don't know and no one has responded about that. I am assuming Warner will release it here at the same time the new one comes out on Blu-ray since they aren't releasing it with the theatrical debut of the new film.

they will more than likely will, but the new edition was just released on DVD here in the States with the same cover art as the import bluray does.
