Running HDMI through Reciever for PQ - Blu-ray Forum

Hey all!

I was just sitting at work thinking about this question so I thought I would ping you guys about it.

I have a Denon AVR-888 and it works well. I run my HDMI from my PS3 into the Denon then one HDMI to my Kuro.

Do you think this effects image quality? I have played around with settings on the Denon to what I think looks the best but never hooked the PS3 directly to the Kuro. Obviously because then audio would be a problem.

Am I worried for nothing or is this a concern?

The audio is decoded, but the 1080P video signal is left untouched. The image would be the same whether it goes through your receiver or if it is connected to your Kuro directly.

Yep, this is sometimes called " HDMI passthrough" as well.
