definitely more "grown up" for her, she's trying to change her image from Hannah Montano. The video isn't too slutty either (if she was freaking 18!!!) but gosh dang she's still 16. I think she's pushing the whole "adult" thing just a bit too early trying to get out of the shadow of the whole "Disney" look.

The way her voice sounds is more a stylistic choice in my opinion. I see where you're coming from though.

She looks uncomfortable, as if she's being forced to grow up too fast.

The parts where she is somewhat dancing look awkward.

The song has a somewhat catchy sound to it, if you ignore the really bad lyrics (which isn't her fault, since she didn't write it).

I actually like the lyrics a lot.

About the rest of what you said. You could be right. I can't say that I see it but that doesn't mean it's not there.

All I know is she was saying on twitter that she needed a vacation. She deserves one.

You know, I had JUST saw this picture over on roflrazzi when I read this post.

I watched the video, I still don't think she's all that great of a singer (she's not even as good as her dad imo and I hate me some country music

) but she sounds better than when Disney first put her out there.

She's not dating Justin Gaston anymore but I agree, the song sucks. The guy who wrote it should be embarrassed, even though the song has been very successful.

My first thoughts of the song were "I love the lyrics and it's a great Miley song... but it doesn't really showcase her true vocals." It's still fun.

I should really listen to more Daft Punk.

I've heard this song a couple times before while I was out at Subway, I never knew it was Miley. I wasn't too thrilled with it when I first heard it because it sounded like a pre-manufactured nobody with too much work done on their voice.
