Default Buy a Bravia 3D TV starting June and try "four free 3D game experiences"

http://uk.playstation.com/games-medi...nt-revolution/
  • WipEout HD: full 3D game (not including Fury expansion)
  • PAIN: 3 x 3D episodes + 1 x 2D tutorial
  • Super Stardust HD: full 3D game (not including Multi/Solo expansions)
  • MotorStorm Pacific Rift: single level 3D demo
Quote:
Pick up a BRAVIA® 3D TV from Sony in June 2010 and try your hand at four free 3D game experiences.

PlayStation 3 owners are in for a treat as 3D stereoscopic gaming really comes of age.

Timed to complement the launch of the great value HX803 series 3D TV in early June, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will release four 3D stereoscopic PlayStation 3 game experiences through PlayStation Network. All four titles will be available as a free collection to purchasers of BRAVIA® 3D TVs.

The PlayStation 3 promotional 3D stereoscopic game experiences include something for all the family, from the explosive excitement of WipEout HD and MotorStorm Pacific Rift, to the dry humour of PAIN, through to the family friendly fun of Super Stardust HD.

Commenting on the special free 3D PlayStation 3 promotion, Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe said, “Sony is a clear leader in all aspects of 3D and this great promotion allows us to bring together the technological leadership of Sony’s 3D TVs with stunning 3D stereoscopic gaming. Only Sony can deliver this breadth of 3D entertainment.”

Find out more about the new BRAVIA® 3D TVs at sony.co.uk and keep an eye on eu.playstation.com for updates.
No 32" 3D TV's: no 3D for me!

None of those titles are particularly compelling as a TV purchase incentive. Actually, neither is Samsung's (temporarily) exclusive copy of Monsters versus Aliens. I want the movie, sure, but not enough to make me bite on a TV.

Samsungs free 3D kit is more enticing

and pain in 3d is enough to make me gouge my eyes out, it was bad in 2d as it will be in 3d

What games do you get with the Samsung then? Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet and Burnout Paradise? And there was me thinking WHD, MS:PR and SSHD were some of the most popular games among the "hardcore".

Eye gouging? That's quite some 3D effect.

As long as the games are updated via patch for 3D I'm happy.

Seriously, imagine having to rebuy games under updated 3d versions...no thanks.

You know what would be wild, patching ps1 games for 3d. MGS for example-I'd try it!

For the actual amount of time I spend per gaming session, I don't think 3D would be a good idea for me.

I would rather mentally castrate myself than play Pain again

Gamers are selectively superior about cheesy games all the time!

Looks like a broader SCEE & Sony Europe, not just UK thing. Gaming content's not necessarily the only free stuff they'll offer too.

My friend just had a demo of the LG, Samsung and Sony 3D TV's and he said Sony are far far behind. He said the LG was incredible where people were walking out of the TV. He was not impressed with the Sony at all.

OK sorry if I sound like a noob, but I haven't researched anything about the 3D TV's.. Will there be 3D broadcasts? Will most BD's come with 3D versions? I just find 3D unpleasant but cool nonetheless
