Default Ice Age 3 HD ?

Hello,
Yesterday I saw Ice Age 3 HD on internet to download. It was named "BD Rip".
Because I want to buy "trilogy" of Ice Age on BD when the third one is out, I thought that I'll download it and check it out couse I am curious what the hell is this.
And guess what...it is real 1920x1080 movie (~7GB, looks like actual BD rip) with many HD extras in separate folders.
Don't worry, I've erased it from my HDD.
And my question is: what the hell? BD is out in about a month, so what is the source of that? Leak?

It's not the only one. Star Trek and Transformers are on the net too, both 1080p. G.I. Joe on the way. Found it weird too, must be rental copies

piracy (when you download, keep and share files) sucks...and why people do that? Why they destroy someone's work? :/ Before it's on sale! :/

I'm not talking about illegal DL's. I am talking about source of HD Rips when there is no BD out...

But you freely admit to illegally downloading it, checking the movie out as well as the extras. You ask why it is on the internet? Because people like you download them. Piracy is wrong, very wrong, very very wrong.
STOP IT!!!

Now can I have your name and address so I can claim my reward.

At ~7GB, it's hardly BD quality, that wouldn't even fill a dual-layer DVD.

There are almost always claims of xyz-Rip for download, in the case of a number of films, these were around before the theatrical release (Transformers and the last Harry Potter i'm fairly sure I saw listed like that).

Personally, don't understand it, especially not people who have spent good money on an expensive set-up and then watch an inferior version of the film on it. Boggles the mind.

Russia gets their DVDs and Blu-ray's early but they are usually of lower quality then the later releases worldwide. That is the source. Now the topic should just END HERE.

I don't say it's BD Quality, but I say this is 1920x1080 h264 video with solid 5.1 sound, waaaay better quality than dvd

and that russian thing with lower quality dvd and BD is...funny for me

It's not considered illigal in every country. Downloading isn't always illigal, sharing (in any way) is

You'd probably be surprised what a stripped down transcode can look like in spite of small file size. Not talking just illegal BDrips, but in general. A 1080p video doesn't need to be 40 GB to look good, even on a BD.
