Default Encore CS3 no DLT output for Blu-ray

I just purchased the recent Encore CS3 authoring program and was upset to find out that it offers no mastering option at all for Blu-ray. It will only output to DLT for SD DVD's. I called Adobe to confirm this problem and they didn't even know themselves until I read it from their own manual. I understand that most people don't have a use for this feature, but for professionals who want to go to a replication facilities this is a huge set back. The main reason I was interested in Encore was because it could do H264.

I will probably switch back to using DVD Pro it 6 HD, since that can do a CMF output to DLT. The only output options for Encore cs3 is a image or disc output. I'm curious though if anyone knows of a way to create a DLT from a image file?

I never understood it either, especially with the advent of DVD-R DL, why so many places still require DLT

If you're just going BD-25 you should be able to burn and send it, call your replicator and ask.

I've already spoken with Sony and they require a CMF format...doesn't necessarily have to be on a DLT. It could be on a drive or disc. However, Encore doesn't give you a CMF option at all.

Anyone know of any other replicators other than Sony?

They say they need DLT, but might be worth a call anyway

You might want to pressure Adobe and get them to issue an update for DLT support. I would be pissed too to find out that the program I want to use don't even have the features I expect it to have.

Thanks, I will look into other replicators to see if they can accept other formats such as image files.

I will most likely complain to Adobe for not including this feature. I really disapprove of their covert tactics to hide it...I shell out $1000 and find out on page 286 in small print it doesn't do mastering.
