Default Help Pioneer VSX-9120TXH No Video

Hello everyone,
I've owned this receiver for almost 2 years with no issue. I've been watching blu-ray movies with no issues. Just now I tried to watched Monsters vs Aliens and I have no video, just sound. I tried different HDMI cables and even resetting the receiver and still no video. I have PS3 (slim) and a Panasonic BD35 via hdmi to avr and a hdmi out to a LG 60" plasma.

Any suggestion

Re-seat the HDMI connectors. Unplug them and then re-insert. That would be my first guess. The 9120 simply passes through the video. There's no on-board video processing in the unit at all. That's why I think it could be a simple connection issue.

Have you tried a direct connection from the PS3 or BD-10 to the TV? To narrow the problem down.

I have and that route does work flawlessly. I'm guessing it's the hdmi board on the avr is fried, but i was getting sound just no video.

Is it worth to get it fix or just get a new avr? i mean i can still use it via optical to get surround sound but just no HD sound.

You're right. It does sound like the HDMI card is dying. I wish there was more I could think of, but I'm fresh out of ideas. As for the new AVR, I'll leave that decision to you.

Good luck.

Thanks for your help. I will get some quotes on fixing the AVR. Worse case i an put it off until boxing day for a sale on a good avr. Receiver still work just not HDMI. Oh well will settle for no HD sound for now. Thanks for your help.
