My brother-in-law bought a Sony upconverting DVD player for a little over a hundred bucks last Christmas and loves it. The picture looks great on his 60" SXRD Sony.

And the mods should move this to the off-topic or general discussion thread since this is not about a BD player...

I did have Sony's DVP-NS75H model (w/HDMI) and it looked great on my Sony BRAVIA KDL-V32XBR2. I even had it ISF-calibrated along with the BRAVIA.
Can't go wrong with the 75!

I still have the original OPPO DVD player that I got for christmas like two years ago or something like that...

I think it does a pretty good job of upconverting. My only gripe is that it is DVI and not HDMI, so I might eventually get a new upconverting DVD player, because I just got a 1080p projector so I want the DVD to upconvert to that level...

But I never had a problem with the Oppo, so I would recommened it.
