Need = Audio system for PS3

Ok so now the only think i need is a sound system, something good that projects sound, because right now the sounds comes out of the back of my HDTV, right into my "soon to be born this coming tuesday" daughter's room wall.

I'm ready to invest, but i don't need the kick-ass system that blows everyone's mind, i need something that i can lower the bass, and make the sound and voice project away from the tv, toward me and my wife, around 7 feet away from the screen.

My main and only multimedia system is my PS3, so something that would go well with it (I imagine a SONY product...)

Budget is around 500 to 1000, i'm in Canada so can't buy stuff from Amazon.com

I'll probably buy from Futureshop or Bestbuy.

And i'd like to get some "pillar speakers" i think they look nice, but it's only an option. Also 5.1 is quite enough, no room for a 7.1 system. Piano Black look is always a nice addition.

So if anyone can help me, i'd appreciate a lot

I know there are a few guys on here that are canadians too, and they went to future shop and got some deals on Energy speakers... Those should be easy for you to find up there. I know one guy bought some floor model speakers said everything was great with them and got away for rediculous prices on the discontinued C-series.

Otherwise you can look at the Klipsch Synergy F1s for $350 for the pair, but BB doesn't have the matching center..... I do suggest listening to them first tho.

FS had some Energy RC-30s on sale for $660 a pair, add that with a $400-$500 receiver like the Denon 590 and just build up slowly. Add the RC-mini center channel for $300 next, etc, etc.

Check out the energy speaker thread and talk with bigall or capt dylan, they shoud be able to help you. They are canadian too.

You mention the PS3, but do you have a receiver? That's something that can take up half or more of your $1000 max. Having one will help. I've looked through the BestBuy and FutureShop websites, and most of what they have, in the way of tower speakers, would also take up most of your $1000 max.

Something you may want to consider is ordering online. I went with Elemental Designs speakers, and I couldn't be happier. For pics, check out my gallery. You could get the A6-6T6 towers, A6-6T6 single, and A3-5TC surrounds for around $850 plus shipping. When I got mine, there were no duty or customs charges on them, and with the dollar near parity, the prices are great.

I just priced out a whole system from Newegg for $1150.00. All Polk speaker's front,center and rear's w/sub and an Onkyo 5.1 receiver. Give them a look.
