As we've covered in a million threads before...I like this one better, at least they tried with a plot as opposed to FFVII, which I never played.

FFVII looks real prutty but I have no idea WTF is going on.

Japan you mean? The French release of Paprika isn't due until the 20th of June. I have it on preorder so I'll let you all know how it is once I get it.

Hmm, looking at that, I don't see anything that indicates blu-ray.

So, can someone enlighten me as to where I'm blind .

Why would any studio be releasing Final Fantasy Spirits Within in 2007 not in an HD format, when there is an easy to find one disc DVD and a somewhat harder to find kind of OOP 2 disc already out?

They could always do a Special Collector's Edition DVD but yeah that's a different story.

FF:SW has already been announced as going through prep work for Blu-ray so I very much expect that it really is the BD release in this case.

Catalog rerelease would have been my guess actually, although with that price point, I dunno.
Anyway, it's an oddly sized text bit under Not There Picture . Found it.

Even though I'm not a big fan of Spirits Within. I will definitely pick this up August 7th (unless it gets delayed or something).

You're right. I got Paprika 5/20 confused with 6/20 in France. Well, either way I hope it still comes out here.

I'm with you, Sixaxis. I'd love to do a side by side comparrison of Spirits Within and Advent Children, to see just how far the technology has progressed, but it would be unfair since AC isn't out on Blu-Ray yet. (It still looks darn good, btw).

I think the main difference you will see between the two.. is how the characters "act". in Spirits, they were still rather.. stiff. They moved fine but the acting was lacking. They did not express enough emotions. But in Advent, you will find they got better at that and, with more freedom of animation since it is based more on a fantasy and less on sci-fi, they were able to make the characters interact and show emotions better.
At lease.. IMO.

I will pick this one up to simply stare at the visuals and disregard anything the characters are saying.
