Question What's the deal with the different costs of Blu-Ray movies?

I recently found this site to explore all of the current and future release Blu-Ray movies. I noticed that the prices for the movies I'm interested are VASTLY lower than those of the stores I frequent to purchase these movies (e.g. Best Buy, Circuit City).

Are there ANY differences in movie/feature quality if I purchase my movies from Blu-ray.com versus the other stores? I'm looking at these prices like "if they're too good to be true then they're not!"

Also, what are the best places/sites to purchase these movies without compromising customer service?

Thanks for the help!

cheap is my game. frys electronics is good amazon.com, buy.com, and ebay i've all used. the only time I set foot in a best buy or circuit city is to get them to price match frys. bb and cc are both overpriced w/everything, undereducated sales people, and did I mention way overpriced. you can almost always get a movie $5 - $10 cheaper at frys.

no dif in quality or features, some places just sell movies for more or less - if you go into a mall for example (mine has a store called Suncoast), they sell there movies for a lot more than best buy or CC - they are the exact same movies though. Now if you buy a pirated movie, then all bets are off. LOL
the only complaint I have is why some movies are $25 and some are $35 at the same store? Sometimes the more expensive one is far inferior to the cheaper one as far as the movie goes.
I wish Columbia House would hurry and add HD titles as they have good deals going on all the time for SDVD.

Do you seriuosly believe there are different versions of those movies? They are all the same it doesn't matter where you buy them, so no difference in quality.

well I wouldnt say that, they do have Directors cuts and what not. LOL but I know what you mean. The same version would not have quality differences no matter what the price dif.

eBay is a somewhat of a gamble.

I've had one person send me only a disc w/o cover, another had a hole drilled through the case, a third sent me the DED version of the movie.

"DED"?? Is that a typo? Please elaborate for the uninitiated.

I've had good success on eBay thus far, purchasing about 4 new BD movies. Ironically, they all came with Walmart price tags on them. Sounds like someone's ripping off the stock room!

One observation is that the more popular the Bluray is the less they sell it for, and the ones that arent doing is well tend to be more expensive.

When I go to BB or Wally-world and see the prices of regular DVDs (often $20 or so for newer releases) I just laugh. I can get BR's for that price online.

Also Fox titles seem to be $5-10 more than other studios.
