Good find! So no news on which cut this is? Hopefully the Director's cut.

Hopefully Concorde starts DTS HD MA audio soon. Current releases are DTS Hi-res only (f.e. Sleepy Hollow).

Apparently it has both cuts, from what I saw. But when you say "cut," it's only about a 30 second difference.

Any feedback on the image quality on this release yet (as compared to the US release)?

And is this all the extras that were on the previous SD releases?

Also the same version is being released in Australia tomorrow (cheaper?).

Yeah the Aussie one is a Sony release, I'm gonna check it out.

Yes, it is the us cinema release (R-Rated), as Digitalfreak NYC said, about 30 sec are missing.
The audio tracks :

Deutsch DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
Englisch DTS-HD High Resolution Audio 5.1

The german publisher Concorde has published some real outstanding releases (Hulk, Iron Man, Doomsday, 30 days of Night) and has only a few weaker releases under its belt (12 Monkeys) , so there is a good chance that the VC-1 encoded picture quality will be very good as well.
Running Time of Bonusmaterial: 100 Minuten (for content view first post in this thread)

German publisher Concorde has begun to feature english true hd tracks too, i.e. Iron Man, Hulk, Doomsday all feature HD MA Tracks. Pre_release Information on titles like Pathology feature HD MA Tracks too, so they may have changed their strategy regarding english audio tracks.

Very likely, as it is a german release which has to run on all german tv sets, but i'll have to check it to be absolute certain,

Someone on another forum said it has both releases - the cut US theatrical release and the uncut international release. Could this be true? especially in the light that the German and Australian cinema releases were the uncut international versions?

Im itching to get this release after holding off from the existing USA release. I also have a universal BD/SD player so 576i50 extras dont phase me.

Yeah me to the features must be long or they are lying about the runtime on the extras

I think the doc on the Lionsgate Uncut DVD was about 90 minutes, but I feel like it was cut/removed from the Lionsgate BD???

Perhaps it's back for the German release...

I just got the Australian release, have not watched it yet. Watching TDK right now.

Anyway its got the ABC region logo on it and has lossless audio Dolby True HD English and Spanish.

Subtitles are English, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin), Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Thai.

Extras:

Audio commentary by director Mary Harron
Audio commentary by writer Guinevere Turner
The 80's Takedown Featurette (SD)
Deleted Scenes (SD)

So the bad news is the extras are PAL on the Aussie one.

Edit: Screw TDK!, I can confirm its 1080p and plays on my A PS3. AVC codec, looks pretty good so far.

Hmm so the German version seems to be different from the Australian version. The Australian version seems identical to the existing R1 Blu-ray, at least in features and being unrated (?), but the German version seems to be similar to the previous Concorde DVD release in terms of its features and possibly being R-rated (cut).

Why cant there just be one version with all special features (from the French DVD also) with good uncut transfer of the main feature.

Hmmm the sound mixes are definitely different between the US and Australian releases, seems like it could still be a new (better?) unrated encode on the Australian release.

This would be a first for Sony. Their releases are always NTSC extras, no?

I'm not 100% sure that extras are PAL, how do I check on my PS3?

I own this on BR the PQ is not bad I give it a 3.5 it's the best its going to look expect grain but not too heavy.

If it comes up as 576p as the resolution, then they're PAL. NTSC is 480p.
