Oppo BDP-83 Deep Color problem

Hey guys and gals!

Just got my oppo hooked up last night and it is fantastic. I do have 1 problem/issue though:

When I turn the deep color on, I sometimes get a flashing white static screen. Sometimes I get the display, sometimes I don't. My G10 supports deep color, so am I missing something? Also, will the deep color on make any noticeable difference? If not, I have no problem leaving it off.

BTW, I chose Deep Color 30 I think.
