Default Demon's Souls or Uncharted 2?

If you only had time for one game, which would you buy (first)? I guess this is sorta a hypothetical because DS has only been out for a couple days and very few people have UC2 at this point.

Without hesistation I picked Uncharted 2 only because I've been looking forward to it since I finished playing Uncharted 1.

Now I really want to play Demon's Souls because it sounds like its a really rewarding game, but I have no emotional ties to it.

Kind of a silly thing to say but I say Demon's Souls to help support Atlus

Get both. That's what I'm doing. If I only had money for one tho it would be Uncharted 2.

Gotta say Demons Souls becuase the first Uncharted was just okay - that's right, I said it! I thought it was a good game, but it was short and the puzzles were pretty easy. It had a lot of good things going for it, but I thought that it got more hype than it deserved.

Demon's Souls is getting some good scores and praise, but I feel like it deserves all that it's gotten so far. It's challenging, but not as hard as all the reviews make it seem. It's hard in that if you die at a boss, you have to make your way back again instead of restarting right outside his door. It's not hard like it's impossible to play. That kind of system makes it extremely rewarding when you do finally beat a boss/milestone though. I really like it, just my $0.02

Hey, that's perfectly legitimate reasoning in my book!

Just saying, if you could only choose one, which one would you pick first? I know at least for me, I can't play two good games at the same time because one inevitably gets pushed to the wayside. That, and I'm time constrained and only have time for one game a month.

That being said, of course I'll eventually get both!

This will make sense, trust me, but it's better to buy Demon's Souls first but play it second. You'll never have a hard time finding Uncharted 2, but Atlus is notorious for not printing enough copies of popular games to cover demand.

However, Demon's Souls apparently requires a good deal of patience to get anywhere, so you're probably better off getting Uncharted 2 out of the way (at least the single player game), then moving on to Demon's Souls when you don't have any other games in your backlog you're dying to play.

How any of that translates to your current situation (I don't know if you can afford both games up front) I don't know.

Demon's Souls is a great game. Uncharted 2 seems like it will certainly be a great game as well. But as Bruce Campbell opined in Army of Darkness as to which one takes the day--Uncharted 2 has the guns

This was my exact reasoning! Isn't is nice to have so many great choices though!

Actually, that makes perfect sense! I didn't even think about that aspect of it. I am well aware of the relative limited prints we see of JRPGs and niche games these days.

As for my current situation, I am just extremely time-constrained. I work full-time, go to grad school and try to maintain some semblance of a social life whenever I'm not studying/working (plus, football on Saturdays/Sundays really cuts into my free time as well!). So, as you can imagine I can't really manage more than 1 game every month or two.

Yeah that's the problem with both Atlus and NIS. It's either you buy it now or forget it or wait till someone wants to get rid of their copy.

Lose the football. It's a boring game: 13 minutes of ball movement spread across 3 hours of your life...think of all the productive gaming you could get done

I pick unchart cause...I went out to pick a copy of DS and none to be found...anywhere...big retail shops don't even know about it...GS only had a handful of copies after the reserves...but I will still pick this up...my friend is playing it right now and says it's fun and challenging...

Man, you are busy! I work 50 hours a week and am married. That's busy enough for me. I hardly have time for any "game-time" as well.

Demon's Souls you play for enjoyement. Uncharted 2 you play for Entertainment!

I say Uncharted 2 offer more bang for the bucks. Graphics, gameplay, story, replay-value, multi-player, music, everything in Uncharted 2 screams MUST play. And also scream GOTY.

As for Demon's Souls, just bought it yesterday. Good game.

If you only have time for one, I say go for Uncharted 2, of course that depends if your into dungeons slaying, or gun adventuring, your choice.

But if you still can't decide, flip a coin.
